DISCOVER THE AREA’S MARITIME AND CULTURAL HERITAGE
Galaxidi and the wider region of Phocis are home to landmarks that connect maritime history with architecture and ancient Greek civilisation. From the collections of this historic seafaring town to the Panhellenic Sanctuary of Delphi, each stop reveals a different chapter in the area’s history.
Maritime and Historical Museum of Galaxidi
The museum presents five millennia of maritime tradition through paintings of sailing ships, shipbuilding tools, carved wooden figureheads, shipping documents and vessel registers. It also houses the Archaeological Collection of Galaxidi, with finds from the town, ancient Chaleion and the gulf.

Church of Agios Nikolaos
Dedicated to the patron saint of sailors, the Church of Agios Nikolaos is one of Galaxidi’s most important landmarks. Its masterfully carved wooden iconostasis reflects the town’s artistry and deep maritime tradition.

Archaeological Site of Delphi
At the foot of Mount Parnassus lies the Panhellenic Sanctuary of Apollo, one of the most important centres of the ancient Greek world. The Temple of Apollo, the Sacred Way, the theatre and the stadium form a monumental site inextricably linked with the mythology and natural landscape of Delphi.
